Itinerary

Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and transferred to your hotel.

We start our valley sight-seeing tour in the morning with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, the palace of the Malla and then the Shah kings of Nepal. Places of interest here are the Kasthamandup, a medieval rest house said to give Kathmandu its name, Kumari Temple, abode of the virgin goddess. From here we visit Swoyambhunath stupa, on top of a hill overlooking Kathmandu valley.
We return to our hotel for lunch or stop by in a convenient restaurant and then we visit Patan famous for its arts and crafts. Tour highlights are the Shikara-style Krishna temple, Patan durbar with the royal baths, Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, a Buddhist monastery. From here we visit the Tibetan cultural center first founded by the Tibetan refugees of the late fifties and now an exhibition-cum-shopping complex of carpets, jewellery and many interesting souvenirs. In the evening we have a cultural evening with typical Nepalese dinner.

We leave early morning for our rafting expedition. We arrive at our raft put-in-pint at the Sunkosi river and float down river encountering some exciting rapids. We are served freshly cooked lunch by the river-ban of the Sunkosi. We are then driven to our resort in Dhulikhel for the rest of the day. We have Himalayan sunset views and spend the night in the resort.

We have an early morning drive to the Royal Chitwan National Park, our destination for wildlife viewing. We stay 2 nights in a lodge and 1 night in a tented camp during our visit to the park. We begin our safari activities almost immediately with a briefing, elephant ride, jungle walks, canoe ride and jeep ride in pursuit of myriad flora and fauna including the rhinoceros and the Royal Bengal tiger. In the evening we have some cultural entertainment plus bonfire during winter.

We continue on our wildlife pursuits today in the presence of qualified naturalists.

Today we leave the comforts of our lodge and rough it out in the tented camp. As we go closer to nature we shall continue to enjoy our wildlife sightings.

We drive to Pokhara through scenic mountain terrain and upon reaching Pokhara we relax in our hotel. The evening can be spent most enjoyably on the bank of the tranquil Fewa Lake, which reflects the towering Fishtail peak in its water.
