Arrival Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
After breakfast, we will be escorted to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport for an early morning flight to Lukla 2,800m, a gateway destination from where our trek begins. After an adventurous 45 minute flight above the breathtaking green and white mountains, we reach the Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla. Walking through a beautiful pine forest, the track leads us along the Dudh Koshi River through many suspension bridges, one of which is the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. First, we catch wonderful prospect of the glistening Mt. Thamserku 6618 m. Through the settlement of Benkar, Chumoa, Monjo, Stay overnight at Yeti Mountain Home.
In the morning after breakfast we start from the Lodge and we must stamp our permit and have cross the Jorsalle village. Then we start to climb steep up slowly passing the high suspension bridge over the Dudh Kosi River till reaching Namche Bazar which takes about 2 and half hours. After ,unch we are going to visit around Namche village. We have a superb view of Khongde Himal, Thamserku and Kangaru Himal. Stay overnight at Yeti Mountain Home.
This is the first of the two days set aside for “acclimatization”. Health experts recommend us to stay active and moving during the rest day too instead of being idle. Today’s journey starts with a climb up to the famous airstrip at Syangboche. Just above the airstrip is the Everest View Hotel, a Japanese scheme to build a deluxe hotel with great views of the highest mountains on Earth. We trek up for about 2 hours and then level off until we reach the Khumjung village. The Khumjung valley surrounded by the snowy peaks of Kondge and Thamserku and the sacred peak Khumbila, hosts a well known monastery that houses a yeti scalp. We also visit Hillary School which is at the same site. Another set of busy and colorful monasteries, lined with prayer flags and prayer wheels, are braced along the slopes high above this traditional village. We either spend the day taking a day’s hike to Thame or visiting Khunde or relaxing and exploring Namche Bazaar itself. Namche Bazzar is the main centre of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, a bakery and a colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday. If we trek a few hundred vertical feet during the day, it will help us to properly acclimatize. Our guides take us to the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarter of the Sagarmatha National Park where we can observe an assortment of things related to the first Everest ascenders, Sherpa culture and learn about the various plant and animal life of the Everest region. After breakfast at Namche, begin your walk to Thame, which should take approximately two-anda- half hours for lunch .You will pass through a beautiful pine forest and typically Sherpa homes. This trail forms part of the entry route to Tibet, which passes near the 8,012-metre peak of Cho Oyu,first climbed in 1954. It is also the historical route that the Sherpa’s migrated from eastern Tibet 800 years ago. A lunch stop is made at Thamo. Its also the home Ang Rita Sherpa, who holds the record for scaling Mt Everest ten times without oxygen. After lunch you ascend gradually up passing a monastery where nuns live and finally you come to village of Samden .From here you descend down to the bridge and crossing Bhote Koshi River, A half an hour ascent up to reach Thame Village, where you stay at the Thame Yeti Mountain Home, your base for the next two nights. Dinner is included at the YMH this evening.
After breakfast you walk about 6 hrs through beautiful rhododendron, pine and bamboo forest. This route is the original Khumbu Sherpa use before 1950 and we renovated this route with the view of Khumbu mountain views. From Thame downhill 30 minutes to Khumbu Electric Power House, other side of Bhote Koshi River. After 15 minutes walk you come across a typical small Sherpa village“PARE”. Walking through pine and bamboo forest you will arrive in the glacier of Kongde Mountain with the fantastic view of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. You can enjoy.
After breakfast, we climb for the summit of Pharak Peak 4900m for the great Panaromic views of entire Everest region. The view of the Solukhumbu range from here is like no others on the other hand. It takes four to five hours trip to the Pharak Peak summit and back to the Hotel. Overnight at Kongde Hotel
Today, we have a steep 4/5 hours walk down to Phakding with great views of Thamserku, Kusum Khangkaru and scenic views of Sherpa villages around Phakding. Lukla and Chourikharka. Overnight night at hotel.
After breakfast, we take a 4 hours easy walk to Lukla. On the way back, we visit the Chaurikharka high school, Kyongma Monastery and villages enroute. Overnight at Hotel.
After breakfast in Lukla, as per our flight time to Lukla, we check-in Lukla (Tenzing- Hillary)airport before 1.5 hrs of departure time.
