Overview
Vertical Expedition has been a leader in establishing new and different treks and tours in Nepal. We don’t copy what everyone else is doing; instead we pioneer new trekking places for our enjoyment. One of our newest treks is the Indigenous People’s Trail Home Stay Trek.
This trek focuses on the uniqueness of the many indigenous people of Nepal. This trek offers great scenery while staying below 3000 meters. It is bordered on the north by Thulo Sailung Peak; the other boundaries of this triangle include the golden waters of the Sun Koshi River and the Tama Koshi River in the east. There are a variety of ethnic groups to see and visit along the way, as well as beautiful scenery.
There are forests of rhododendron, pine and oak. There are numerous scenic vistas where you can see the various ranges of the Himalayas from Mt. Dhaulagiri (7th highest peak in the world) to Mt. Kanchenjunga (3rd highest peak) in the east.
The trek is home stay, where you will have the opportunity to stay in homes of the local people. While they have fixed up a guest room for you to stay, there are very few amenities. However, you are able to really get a feel for the culture and the people of the mountains who extend to you incredible hospitality. This trip will give you an opportunity to discover “the real Nepal” that is outside of the typical tourist areas. This is an ideal trek for beginners, older trekkers and those with families. It is also a good budget trek as the cost of this trip is low as you will be staying in private homes. When you do stay in private homes, the money you spend at each home will help families to send children to school as well as to afford many things in life that subsistence farming would not allow for. These trips help the local economy while offering you a chance to truly meet the mountain people.
